You will be surprised at how many come up.
And don't forget archive.org for hundreds of older books..I am partial to books written between 1860 and 1930..on all sorts of subjects.

I routinely scan various services for free ebooks, so it's nice to have other suggestions. Still, I wish I could remember the current offering in particular; I think I saw it on a FB news blurb that disappeared upon refresh and hasn't shown up on my screen since then.

I downloaded quite a few from Gutenberg.

Book Bub is another site that offers free books.
