'New Orleans Police sentenced for violating civil rights in Katrina aftermath'

One small and delayed victory down. Only 245,876,538 to go.

'New Orleans Police sentenced for violating civil rights in Katrina aftermath'
http://www.washingtonpost.com/business/economy/new-orleans-police-sentenced-for-violating-civil-rights-in-katrina-aftermath/2012/04/04/gIQANW6rvS_story.html

'Four New Orleans police officers were sentenced to 38 to 65 years in prison for convictions including violating the civil rights of two people killed a week after Hurricane Katrina devastated the city in 2005.

U.S. District Judge Kurt D. Engelhardt in New Orleans sentenced a fifth officer today to six years for covering up the crimes.

A federal jury in August convicted officers Kenneth Bowen, Robert Gisevius, Robert Faulcon and Anthony Villavaso of opening fire on unarmed black civilians on the city’s Danziger Bridge and conspiring with others to cover up their actions. The fifth, homicide detective Arthur “Archie” Kaufman, was convicted of conspiring to make the shootings appear justified.'

Check this out: "Bowen was charged with kicking and stomping Madison as he lay “on the ground, alive but mortally wounded,” according to the indictment. Bowen denied the allegation, contending the witness who accused him of kicking Madison lied."

What kind of sick, savage, inhuman monster would do something like that? Who would "stomp" on a dying man?

But here is yet another example of how black life is devalued by too many of this nation's police officers. This story has made it all the way Down Under and imo, is ten times more shocking, nauseating and disturbing than the Trayvon Martin story.

"This is my sworn testimony," he can be heard saying. "White Plains police are going to come into my house and kill me." A few minutes later, they broke down his door and proved him right.

...An offer to help, from Chamberlain's niece, is declined. "Sir, please leave me alone. I'm a sick old man," Chamberlain says. "We don't give a f---, n---er," replies a cop. Soon after, video mounted on a Taser stun gun and CCTV in the housing block show police breaking the door off its hinges.

In the Taser video, as recounted by Mr Bartlett, Chamberlain is standing well back, in his boxer shorts, apparently unarmed, with his hands down. Without a warning or command, the stun gun fires two prongs, but one misses. "Shut it off," says a voice, and the tape ends."

Son of a BITCH. So goddamned sick of this. I am weeping for this man and his family. especially his son.

"sick, savage, inhuman monster"s are the footsoldiers of the white-supremacist oligarchy - i.e., repuke vulgar rich and their repuke minions.

keep speaking out, please keep speaking out.
