DOJ told AT&T it has to sell CNN for Time Warner merger: report

The Justice Department has informed AT&T that it must sell CNN in order to gain approval for its merger with Time Warner, the Financial Times reported on Wednesday.

The newspaper cited three individuals "with direct knowledge" of the discussions.

The New York Times also reported Wednesday that the Justice Department wants Time Warner to sell off all of Turner Broadcasting, a subsidiary that holds CNN and other networks, like TBS and TNT.

"It's all about CNN," one of the sources told The Financial Times
