National Take Your Daughter To The Range Day

Inaugural Event June 9 2012

Boys learn to shoot in Scouts, or with their Dads. Often the girls are left behind, because shooting isn’t ‘girly.’ Well, we can, and do, shoot, and well! Learning to shoot gives young women confidence, helps to build self-esteem, and introduces them to a sport they can participate in their whole lives.

This event will promote firearms safety and education, as well as family bonding through participation in an exciting and fun sport.

Sounds like a good opportunity to teach the young ladies safe shooting.

Wife, daughter, daughter in law, other granddaughter, none of them were interested, but this kid loved it.

She's now a wife, mother, and student so we've not been able to do this for a few years but we do go to the range a few times a year.

Every time I take the daughter or one of the DiLs to the range ... another gun disappears.

So far I've "lost" two Marlin Model 60s, a S&W Airweight and a Charter Arms Undercover in .38 special. And now the oldest granddaughter is getting interested.

I guess that's one fun way to clean out my gun closet.

I have lost a Taurus 24/7, Ruger LCR, and Ruger 10/22 this way. Those range trips are fun but can get pretty expensive.
