(13,485 posts)State the whole 2nd amendment and maybe there could be a logical response. As stated, it's a loaded question.

(2,708 posts)DarkAngel from the 2ndA poll thread: No, it isnt cherry picked. I could say the same about the anti gun mob But I won't.
The poll is pretty straight forward. For or against our constitutional right to carry and bear arms
No it isn't 'straightforward' at all, and you're obviously pro gun with a bias against guncontrol advocates.
.. there are two different interpretations of the 2nd amendment, one the individual right & the other the militia right (which has two schisms, a pure militia only right, another with an accompanying 'narrow' individual right but still dependent upon militia).
I support the 2nd amendment interpretation as a militia based right with a narrow individual right adjunct, which means I think the scalia based 2008 ruling was a subversion of the true meaning of the 2ndA. So how can I answer your poll question which asks whether I support the 2ndA, without misleading my true opinion?
So your wording nulllifies the poll as anything meaningfull, just another unscientific internet poll. Unscientific since it is not 'randomly chosen' sample - people could log off & relog back on under different name & revote. Not that I think this is happening, but combined with the spoon fed wording, it's junk science.
Toss in the relative ignorance about the roots of the 2nd amendment, a lot of people think it either allows people to own guns, or, become a police state.
Here, from polling report, with scientific polling:
