1. I remember that day

I was in fifth grade and the school lowered the US flag to half-staff. It was a memorable moment.

That night at dinner, my dad spoke about Ike. Although dad was a Democrat, he admired Eisenhower tremendously.

Ain’t no Republicans like Ike no more.
