so, 1 of the best dogs i ever raised was a victorian bully by the name of southern yankee bulldogge’s dr victor von doom, call name doctor, doctor dog. somehow never doc.
my then hubs had a friend who found this breed, this breeder, and was waiting on a litter. posting puppy porn on fb every day. our youngest was a sad teen at the time, and a puppy seemed like the ticket. now we had 3 dogs, as usual, and all dogs belong to the momma.
since this was his fault, dad was the designated owner. dog, of course, did not care.
he was 200# of drive in a 100# bag. smart and eager to please. he was also the most empathetic animal i ever owned. his coat soaked up many, many tears. the plan pretty much worked.
but kiddo moved out, in w her snake of a bf, and had to leave him behind. right as the divorce started, the ex moved the 2 of them into a 2flat we bought and swore we wd never rent to kids.
the ex asked for the dog in the divorce, but he didnt press it. he knew who the dog THOUGHT owned him.
but the bs w the little dogs got to b a real pita, and i do allow pets. so i let him go.
he did great despite being an apt dog, even tho he had to make a scene when certain dogs were around. but i knew if that asshole ever raised a hand, he’d b dead b4 he hit the ground.
fortunately, she dumped the asshole. unfortunately, she couldnt take him with. so the ex took him.
he’s been living his best life ever since, in a cottage in a lake in michigan. i’m not the least bit mad.
well, kiddo was living w another bf, and it went south. she’s in a bad place. she ended up w dad. and doctor. and that makes me weepy happy.
