Related: About this forumChihuahua that I fostered came back.
The person that adopted her didn't contact us to return her. Instead they dropped her off at Animal Care and Control. The agreement specifically stated that the rescue dog must be returned to us if they did not want her anymore. They didn't do it.
Bea was fortunate that we had a relationship with ACC that they contacted us about her and able to pick her up. Otherwise, she would had ended up dead. More than likely she would not had passed their temperament test. I don't think she would had bitten anyone. Just pee and run away. She went into the crate after it was set down and opened. I carried her out to the release area and she was shaking like crazy. She relaxed more after we got out to the car probably remembering my voice.
She is I believe back to the state she was in when she left my place. It took less than 24 hours.
Bea is really a good loving girl. She enjoys belly rubs and will come to my feet and turnover for them. Or turns over when she is on the recliner when I pass her. She is right there when I take a nap ready to get up on the sofa and find a good spot. And get some good ear stroking too.
I hope I can find a good home for her soon.

(18,219 posts)I just cannot imagine why anyone would do this when they know you are ready to take her back. I suppose that they were ashamed that they decided they didn't want her and didn't want to find some lame excuse----and they didn't realize that they did not need to make any excuses.
My cat, Sammy, came from a rescue group that also has this contract. I am the three placement for him. He had been returned to them with what I consider lame excuses, but that is not the point. The point is that they did it right. He will not go back.
