It's got a $50 deductible per visit, but after an accident required a $2,000 surgery, it's worth it.

If you have a young and healthy dog that has a safe lifestyle (Leashed, securely fenced yard, not exposed to strange dogs at local bark parks) the odds may be in your favor to bank the premiums and pay the Vet yourself on that rainy day.
If you have savings and you don't have to worry about taking the risk it could pay off. You really have to do the math to decide. Each insurance company may cover in a different way. Some like Pet Care Gold cover accident and illness very well but don't contribute to wellness care. Others may cover part of your yearly shots and dental but have higher deductibles and lower limits per illness per year.

I always advise my clients to evaluate their pets and their own finances and then compare the top 3 or 4 companies to see what will work for you.
