One year ago, tomorrow, a feral cat I had made friends with came running into my house with something small in her mouth. I thought she was bringing me a mouse so I ran after her to my bedroom closet where I discovered she had a tiny kitten, probably not more than a day old. I put an old blanket into a box and moved the kitten, then went back to my computer. I checked on them about an hour later and they seemed quite content there, so I figured I now had 2 new roommates. Here is them about a week later. It's hard to see the kitten as she looks like a little bit of her mom. That's when she got her name.
Here she is taking her very first steps.
Here she is today. She's still quite small and evidently so is her brain. I'm sure she would not have survived the feral life. I love her dearly and this past year has been quite an experience. She's never been around anyone but me and her mom, so she has an interesting personality.
Now I must go and make a tuna cake.

(21,847 posts)What do you mean when you said she has a small brain? I guess you mean she is not very bright. What does she do or not do that makes you think she isn't very bright.

Very moving. Thank you.
