One day at a time

Day to day with our little girl, Molly. Took her in last week for her second round of chemotherapy and had to postpone because her pancreatitis had flared up.

Then day before yesterday she had a bout of constant vomiting and was in pain so we took her in for hydration and injections to take care of nausea and pain. The vet said to hold off for a day on all other meds until she was feeling better.

She was so much more comfortable that we have decided to leave off meds which are not specific to the cancer; antibiotic and steroid. She is a different cat; way happier, more clear eyed, and ate two cans of food yesterday. The meds were supposed to stimulate her appetite and reduce stomach acid, but they were just making her feel shitty. She's eating better without them and not throwing up.

Another visit to the internist and chemotherapy next week, so we'll see.

What a pretty girl she is! I hope she kicks that horrible disease and recovers quickly.

Sometimes you just have to make your own decisions. Letting her feel better and eat better is probably worth it. Was the antibiotic called Clavamox? It makes my cats lose their appetites and throw up bile.

You seem to be having improvement, so don't give up hope. Like you said, one day at a time and just enjoy every moment with her that you can get.

Such a pretty kitty. Lovely coat pattern, and such a sweet face.
