Anyone out there have a good home made buffalo sauce?

The super bowl is coming up this weekend, and I want to make the wings completely home made. But, I just cannot get the hotwing sauce right. Does anyone out there have any buffalo sauce recipes that you would like to share?

Thanks in advance!

I actually use the olive oil version, but understand butter is the authentic version. Kali Jan 2017 #3
I will have to try clarifying the butter for my next attempt. Else You Are Mad Jan 2017 #5

deep fry the wings for real authentic grease flavor and texture

alternative is bake the wings with salt pepper, garlic powder and cayenne at 450, then sauce with half Franks and half olive oil

ranch or "blue cheese" dip/dressing

homemade: equal parts buttermilk and mayo or sour cream, a bit of salt, pepper, garlic and onion powder, dry parsley and dill.

I can get more precise measurements if you need but "winging" (sorry) it is pretty easy.

That's what I have been trying, I guess I need to get the ratio down. Have you tried using margarine instead of butter?

Have you tried clarifying it? maybe that is the trick. I believe the ratio is 1 to 1.

nope the Franks page says 1/2 cup Franks to 1/3 cup butter https://www.franksredhot.com/recipes/franks-redhot-buffalo-chicken-wings-RE1303-1

I see some other recipes calling for Worcestershire sauce and celery salt...never tried any of those, myself.

Thanks for the suggestion!

How does it work out with using olive oil?

but then I don't get them from bars and restaurants very often so that is what I am used to.

just regular olive oil not extra virgin

try a little garlic powder in there too, that may be what is missing.

Original "Wingers" recipe. They started out as California C&R in a railroad car in Salt Lake.

I don't measure, as it depends on amount I am making, so you can "wing" it. 😊

The covering for the wings....

Frank's hot sauce & corn starch. You can deep fry, or bake on rack.

Dipping sauce..

Frank's hot sauce. Brown sugar. Heat to melt the sugar. Do it to taste. Dont let it boil. The sauce lasts a long time in the fridge, and can be used on other cuts of meat.

Serve with Blue Cheese dressing & celery sticks.

Enjoy.
