I made stuffed poblanos. The stuffing is a mixture of seasoned chicken (shredded, spices like cayenne, cumin), with onions and garlic, and I am topping with coriander. Oh, and cheese, too.
Also tossed green salad with radicchio in it.
White wine.
Dessert is pineapple, peaches and raspberry topped with tapioca pudding.
I hope you are all having a terrific Labor Day weekend. I am getting in a bit of recreation with friends, but at the same time, enjoying some alone time with the kit-cats. All the neighbors went away, so it's really quiet back here in the woods. Yesterday I went to a movie with some of my colleagues from work. We saw "A Walk in the Woods." Funny, enjoyable. My classes are all planned for next week, and my wardrobe laid out. Life is good! It's nice when a person can feel a little bit in control over things, as it's usually not that way.

(14,733 posts)We're just doing one of our old standbys, teriyake beef over noodles. But we picked up pulled pork to use on labour day to do cuban sandwiches again, yum yum.
Been doing a little labour inside and out. Outside, I've been still tearing apart brick sidewalks, getting the weeds and dirt out from between the bricks, and resetting the bricks. Inside, I've been cleaning out the area under the kitchen sink and deciding what to get rid of and what to keep. That resulted in testing out some oven cleaner, which apparently still works well, so the next project will be cleaning the oven. We also stopped recently and got a basket of 16 green bell peppers from a local farmstand for $8, so I need to get those cored and into the freezer for stuffed peppers in months to come. Lastly, we're about to start repainting the living room, so I need to wash the walls. We choose a sort of light blue-grey colour, since we're going winter for the living room theme. (Dining room is fall, kitchen is spring.) Haven't decided if I'm going to try and do a mural of a birch forest on the one wall, been considering it. We've got a nice framed print of some cardinals in winter to hang once we're done, and the housemate also picked up a limited edition print of the aurora borealis over a snowscape on her trip to Alaska, she's getting that framed now.

(3,813 posts)cabbage and spaghetti squash made like chow mein.
would have been better if we had tossed in some chicken.
had good flavor and a nice sauce, but not enough
staying power.
would make a nice side dish, or if you added some left over chicken or pork
would have been better. live and learn.
so have a pizza in the oven now

(2,674 posts)Southern fried chicken, pasta salad (made with tri-color Rotini with black olives, a little chopped celery, bell pepper and carrot for crunch, dressed with Newman's Own oil and vinegar dressing), baked corn off the cob, bowl of cantelope and watermelon chunks. Topped it off with the last of the apple kuchen and cinnamon buttermilk ice cream left from Friday.
