It has broke a couple of times and I've repaired it. I've also modified it with electronic boiler control. You can repair most real pump type espresso machines, but after 30 years on a consumer grade machine you've probably got your money's worth.

It was one I found only after trying many more expensive espresso makers. It was the best--and the cheapest, when I bought it in the '80s for about thirty bucks.

Why did I ever sell it?

I saved and saved and bought that one at Woolworth's for thirty bucks. I worked food service on campus at the time.

The last ten the pressure was not there for foaming the milk, so we used a whisk, looks like one...battery operated.

I looked at machines. They have one for thirty at target...but unlike this Bhelonghi, it loos plain out cheap. Then there are all the pods systems...what a freaking waste!

So, if you want good espresso, I am serious, the Bialetti works very well. It is far less wasteful too.
