Seriously, don't make this everyday.
2 cups of brown sugar.
1/2 of white sugar
2 sticks margarine
4 eggs
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup nuts, optional
Mix all the ingredients together.
Bake in a sprayed (cooking spray) 9x12 cake pan @ 325 degrees for 40 minutes.
Dust with powdered sugar (optional.)
Cut while warm.
Pretty thick batter. Make sure the eggs are large. Thank Aerows for making me post it here.

The recipe looks familiar, as we might have made something like this in pastry classes (we made all sorts of things!)
It looks good, and it looks easy! I'll have to make some to share

(29,414 posts)That is, it's not a problem giving away rich foods like this. Go look for that flourless chocolate cake recipe of mine. I've never eaten more than three 1/16th slices from one cake (and not all at once!)
I respect rich recipes

Just follow Julia Child's advice: Everything in moderation

question is, do i have the motivation...
edit:
i have known these as naughty bars, but the recipe i use has only two eggs, guardian posted the recipe over the summer. i love them.
i did have the motivation to make them tonight, but not enough brown sugar. i'm making peanut butter bars instead, very similar recipe.

(4,243 posts)I read this recipe and I thought, "I have all of the ingredients and it looks simple enough to make."
I made it today and ate half of the cake.
I can't help it, I LOVE sugar. The sweeter something is, the better.
Thank you so much for posting this!

Oh boy, can I relate! I have a brownie pudding in the oven now, or I'd probably have done what you did, and I AM diabetic! Type 1, though, not type 2, so as long as I can maintain good blood sugar, diet isn't an issue.
You have a true sympathizer here, believe me.
