Anthony Bourdain Twitter Rant Unleashed On Travel Channel Over Cadillac Ad

It's not wise to get on Anthony Bourdain's bad side. He minces steak tartare, not words. The last person to really feel the brunt of his rage was celebrity chef Paula Deen, whom he criticized for pushing unhealthy food and diabetes drugs in quick succession. But he and Deen were never pals. The same cannot be said of his newest target: the Travel Channel, which aired his TV show "No Reservations" for seven years before ending its run with an episode about Brooklyn last night.

Bourdain got angry with the Travel Channel for including shots of Cadillac cars in a seemingly innocuous promo for the series finale. He took to Twitter -- which was called @noreservations until June -- to express his rage. Click through the Tweets below to see some of what he said:

He should know better than to bite the hand that feeds him. One hand washes the other, both wash the face. Those Caddy inserts were no doubt organized for profit, and that profit paid HIS salary.

Very odd.

Some poutrage just invites suspicion--his comes off that way to me!

like he brags about in his Layover programs, or flying first-class on those corporate jets, or driving those corporate sports cars...

I loved his earlier work, still like some -but increasingly less - of his current stuff, and think fame went to his head.

Sometimes, people have abrupt personality changes when they're ill. This happened to a beloved auntie of mine; she was always a witty and joyous person, but then she suddenly became surly and was dead in six months from inoperable cancer.

If he is ill, I hope it's not something incurable. Who needs that kind of grief?

He did the same thing to the Food Network when they cut him. It's not as if this wasn't highly predictable.

I'll admit, I've seen him but once or twice--just couldn't "lock on."

Some of that is what draws his audience to him. It's just that this should come as no surprise to the network.

Now...not so much....He's become quite a bit of an Ass actually. I think it started when he divorced his wife of many long years and took up with that strange woman.... Ah well that's the way it goes sometimes....Mid life crisis...lose your mind. Been down that road myself...But thank god...I didn't get as lost as he is.

And as far as money goes...He didn't have any qualms about taking travel channels money for many years...and I'm sure he'll be making quite a bit more with the mainstream network with his new show. He already sold out but it's somebody elses fault now... Bad form Tony.

His rant against vegetarians put me off. I don't care if you don't like vegetarianism, but he had to be a dick about it.

That seems like a waste of air to me, too. If you don't want to be a vegetarian, don't be one. Don't yell at people who like it! Same deal with people who eat meat--if you don't want to eat the meat, don't! I think education is a good thing--this is good for you, that is high in vitamins, this is fatty and unhealthy, that will build strong bones, etc. But there's just no need for shirtiness! It never changes a single mind, I don't think!
