I had to make another pot of chicken noodle soup because my friend who is trying to get over pneumonia said he thought it helped him, so I saved half for me and gave him half. Now the interesting thing I'm going to do with mine is experiment with adding different seasonings, herbs, etc. I'll have small cups of the soup and try something different with each serving. I want to try my new gochujang, for one.
In this soup I put half rotini noodles and half cheese tortellini. The usual vegetables: carrot, celery, garlic, onion. Herbs are parsley, marjoram.
Half a ham sandwich to go with it. I have this new bread that's very thin and only 40 calories a slice. I love it! It's made me realize that I really don't want a lot of bread.
Pomegranate kombucha.
Dessert will be a banana milkshake, one chocolate cookie (new kind, low carb/calorie). Decaf vanilla nut coffee.

(14,892 posts)I'm going to have to put chicken soup on my soup rotation menu. Now that the weather is cold and getting colder, I'll have homemade soup for lunch.
Tonights supper is BBQ ribs and ratatouille with fresh veggies from the Farmer's Market. I can hardly wait!

(22,040 posts)We sailed to Solomons Island in Maryland and DUer elleng met us for dinner.
The restaurant is called The Pier (guess why) and we saw a beautiful sunset over the Potomac River.
The First Mate had a bowl of crab soup that was similar to Manhattan clam chowder followed by a huge Caesar salad. Elleng also had some of the crab soup followed by a glazed salmon with piles of green beans. I had a strip steak covered with crab meat and blue cheese with a green salad and hush puppies. Quite a feast!
It was a real treat to meet our friend in real life.

(5,674 posts)Made my first meal since returning from Scotland late Tuesday.
Eggplant Parm with homemade sauce. The sauce was made from canned San Marzano tomatoes, and had lotsa garlic and homegrown parsley, rosemary and thyme. I whirled it all in the blender and poured over simmered Italian sausage then simmered a while longer. Sourdough garlic bread smeared with herb compound butter.
We had a friend over to give him his gift from Scotland and he ate three helpings! Theres very little left but should taste even better today for a quick lunch.
