Love/Hate

This is sort of The Wire on steroids with an Irish accent from only the drug dealers' point of view.

It's difficult to watch. It's constant, senseless violence as one gang tries to one-up another. Still it's compelling TV.

The thing that astounds me is the women who hang out with these guys, marry them and have their babies. I mean, what kind of stupid is that?

There is one very amusing thing in the second series. We spend a lot of time in the boss's house where he has a painting of the Last Supper. Only the characters are not what you expect. Christ has his dead brother's face. Jack Kennedy, Bob Marley, several rappers as well as the boss himself also make an appearance.

Give this a try, but just be prepared for the violence.

I don't think it's about stupid- the women that is. I think it's more about that humans adapt to what they know. Oh, and I think the acting is damn good.
