"In Bruges" A British dark comedy.
An interesting and amusing film and there is one scene in the bell tower which, to me, was gut busting funny.
A problem for me with British flicks is that I'm somewhat hard of hearing and there are stretches where I cannot understand, because of the accent, what is being said.
Edit: This is available on Netflix.

(20,886 posts)I have the same problem with some British shows.
I use Apple TV to stream. By pressing and holding the center button on the remote, it brings up a menu that allows you to select subtitles. I don't have any experience with Roku.

And I'm married to a Brit, lol!

(36,351 posts)I might as well have been totally deaf for most of the movie.

(48,217 posts)trilogy on streaming. At that time there were no subtitles on streaming, and I was lost, due to the THICK Yorkshire accents. I quickly ordered the disks for the second and third episodes.
But now my Roku 3 shows subtitles if there are any.

(11,441 posts)Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson manage to be sympathetic characters, and Colin and Ralph Fiennes are hilarious. And Ralph as menacing as ever. I wanted to hop on a plane and visit -- the %*$&* cobblestones!, the %&$*&! swans! And Brendan Gleeson climbing the stairs to "Raglan Road"? Phew, rough.

(47,602 posts)I own the DVD and I can't count how many times I've watched it. Laugh out loud every time. As for the dialogue, most of it is the F word and they say that very clearly and often.
It probably will be better the 2nd time, being you'll have a better idea what is going on.

(2,933 posts)you will have the option of closed captioning if available for that show. I'm a little hearing impaired and so I routinely watch Netflix this way. I also use headphones to listen which makes a big difference.
