Been using listerine for two months and now my teeth are very sensitive, using a toothbrush feels harsh, is there any other
product I can use to help with dental care, I dont use it for bad breath.

But I wonder whether peroxide is safe. What is the story on this?

(90,061 posts)Usually as toothpaste (Arm & Hammer), but I keep a bottle around to swish around (full strength) my gums now and then when I think the indigenous life forms down there are getting out of hand. I'm 67, haven't seen a dentist since 1998, haven't lost a tooth in 25 years, and that one was knocked out.
Try it, if you don't like it, stop.
Listerine is full of alcohol, drunks are quite fond of it as a secret stash.

(1,925 posts)A great find for keeping teeth heathy/clean are the little plastic piks with dental floss stretched between two arms of the pik. Mint is nice. Sensodyne tooth paste seems to help. Try stopping listerine and stop using any whitening product.
Just suggestions..

(38 posts)Sensitive toothpaste. Rub the toothpaste into your teeth then brush them and use a Flouride rinse once a day.
I use the rinse before I go to bed.

(41,205 posts)but I like Fluoriguard (manufactured by Colgate), which is non-alcohol-based and feels much milder in the mouth than Listerine. It is, however, more expensive than Listerine, especially if used long-term. A cheaper alternative is to rinse your mouth regularly with warm salt water - doesn't have all the positive effects of some mouthwashes, but doesn't have the bad effects either, and is pretty good as a mouth disinfectant.
You might also check on the toothpaste you are using: there are some toothpastes like Sensodyne which are more comfortable for sensitive teeth.
