Anyone using a Tens machine?

I need a hip replacement and in the meantime I'm using hydrocodone, lidocaine patches, massage and pot edibles to help control the pain. Would a Tens machine increase relief?

1. In my experience...

It helped to lessen the inflamation a lot. But it didn't lessen my pain to a large degree. I had to have surgery to stop that.

Full iliac bypass, not much blood supply was getting to my legs. I assume yours is a hip joint issue? Tens may help that much more than my condition. I thought I had a bad hip, but it really was claudication.

5. My daughter uses it for a bulging disc on her low back

It helps significantly. Surgery is in her future but the tens unit helps.

6. Over the weekend a woman I know went to the ER. They found an 8cm ovarian cyst and twisted Fallopian

tube.

After she had the surgery for that, the hip she was scheduled to have repaired in April stopped hurting. No more surgery, that wasn't the problem after all, the pain was referred from her ovary/tube.

Second opinions are sometimes in order.

7. I used it following spinal fusion surgery ...

it brought some relief beyond hydrocodone.
