A bishop who tried to exorcise the Governor of Illinois over his support for same-sex marriage will open the new session of Arizonas state legislature.
Bishop Thomas Paprocki of Springfield, Illinois has been selected by the Catholic Churchs Phoenix Diocese to speak at the Mass before the opening of the legislative session.
Equality activists have reacted with shocked at the choice as Paprocki last year attempted to perform a long-distance exorcism on Illinois Governor Pat Quinn, when he legalised same-sex marriage.
During the exorcism, Paprocki conducted prayers of supplication and exorcism in reparation for the sin of same-sex marriage.

(297 posts)... and governor Quinn is still possessed by demons.
But he lost the election (not over this issue).

(802 posts)Arizona would likely be a "blue" state if not for all the damn decrepit snowbirds come down in time for 1. the elections 2. the "big event" desert swap meet in Quartzsite. Thousands flock from Faux-news-lands of Montana and Idahoho turn the most populated counties just to the red side.
My parents used to do the same thing-- kept their voter registration at their winter adress there. Dad got hooked on Fox and contributed to Az's "redness".
Northeast Arizona is unforgivingly "red" regardless, but their population isn't 1/10 of the phoenix and southwestern areas that tip far closer to the "blue" in vote counts.
