Andrew Shirvell testifies Chris Armstrong was pushing 'radical homosexual agenda'

By David Jesse
Detroit Free Press Staff

Andrew Shirvell, a former state assistant attorney general, testified today that he has “no hatred in his heart” for former University of Michigan student body president Chris Armstrong, but still believes Armstrong was trying to push a “radical homosexual agenda.”

The testimony came on the last day of a trial in a lawsuit filed against Shirvell by Armstrong nearly two years ago in U.S. District Court in Detroit alleging defamation of character.

In his lawsuit, Armstrong says that Shirvell, among other things, inflicted intentional emotional harm through his actions during Armstrong’s senior year at the university. During that year, Shirvell produced a blog on which he wrote entries highly critical of Armstrong’s lifestyle, including accusing him of getting minors to drink alcohol and trying to recruit others to become homosexuals.
....

Shirvell, who is representing himself, questioned himself on the witness stand for more than an hour this morning, trying to convince the jury he was upset by Armstrong’s push for gender-neutral housing at the school. Shirvell graduated from U-M in 2002.

Figured I'd help the kid out.

I could have done it myself and saved the money, but I figured it would be better to stick with the evil homosexual agenda.

Right now I'm alternately cleaning house and posting on DU while listening to Pink.

I plan go for a long walk along the creek later and commune with the natural world. Those ravens, ospreys, ducks, herons, kingfishers, lizards, squirrels, bunnies, even those beautiful old giant cottonwoods and sycamores better watch out.

Nothing is safe from my homosexual agenda.

I'm even planning to go as far as to go out and have a few drinks and laughs with some of my homosexual agenda co-conspirators this evening. (Ironically, we'll probably (gasp!) end up discussing our 2012 LGBT Pride agenda for our local Pride event that is coming up next month.

Had to give my 17-year-old cat her IV

Went to the gym

Went to the grocery store

That took up the whole day...if this is the homosexual lifestyle, I'm sorry I signed up!

* Sleep in (since i've worked 5 doubles in a row at my jobs)

* Watch my dearly-beloved play "Minecraft" for a while

* Give the kiddo (age 12) his allowance so he can go to the video game store

* Make dinner for the household --- Yum... gayly grilled chicken with homo-roasted potatoes!

* Forward assorted cute, pro-equality pics on Facebook while talking to far-away friends from home

* Go to the pub where i work (on my night off) to listen to the band and welcome back assorted college-kids who have been gone for the summer.

* Drove a couple of intoxicated friends home before walking back to my castle-on-the-hill.

Ex-assistant attorney general ordered to pay $4.5 million over blog attacks

By David Jesse
Detroit Free Press Staff

A former state assistant attorney general was ordered Thursday to pay $4.5 million in damages after a federal jury ruled his blog attacking a University of Michigan student body president for a "radical homosexual agenda" wasn't political speech, but rather a vicious personal attack.
....

The blog -- the "Chris Armstrong Watch" -- was filled with posts from Shirvell, including ones calling Armstrong, the first openly gay student body president at U-M, "Satan's representative on the student assembly" and a "privileged pervert."
....

Shirvell, who is unemployed and acted as his own attorney, said he'll appeal the case all the way to the Supreme Court if he has to, claiming it will be a "landmark" First Amendment case.
....

"The whole case is about politics. Every conservative Christian in the nation should be scared from this. This is the radical homosexual lobby trying to make an example out of me. Every conservative Christian in the nation should know that they are going to come after you if you object to their lifestyle, that they are going to crucify you in the public arena."

Shirvell's degree is from Ave Maria.

Yesterday we did the grocery shopping. We went to Lowe's where husbear of nearly 17 years bought spray bottles and I priced tow-behind drop-spreaders. Later I vacuumed then took a brief nap.

Today I'm doing a bit of software development and perhaps I'll work another nap in. Those 60-mile-each-way drives to work and back and 10-hour days are wearing on an aging man. Who has time for sweet-talking innocent young thangs into choozin' a daynjers hummasekshul lifestyle? I'm doing what I can to survive over here.
