(5,105 posts)I hope they can go forth and graduate from college, too.
My oldest is in the AF national guard in a high tech field, they are paying for all his college. He hopes to work in the space field eventually. The younger is also going to go into the AF guard ( once he loses 20 pounds) but he wants to go into forensics which is perfect because he will do better in jobs that don't require one to be very adept at social schmoozing. He is a bit of an odd duck
My nineteen year old gets promoted to senior airman next month
Yup yup, I love my babies. They are both smart and compassionate and liberal and imaginitive. They are what I hope our future will look like.
teetee... I know I am gushing.
Ohhh and just for note, I would like to mention again that the commencement was made by our Mayor Kevin Dumas, who is the first legally married gay Mayor ever.....and the only republican that ever gets my vote. He does do a good job And umm...he is a hottie.

(28,581 posts)It was a long and very hard road. He did his last semester at the community college due to bullying by wanna-be gangster types. But he excelled there and tonight was the prize This kid has been overcoming crisis all his life. I am confident that he will finally find his place in college.

(22,057 posts)My niece graduated that day, along with her best friend-an apparently brilliant young man who won prize after prize in all academic fields at the ceremony. We were sitting in the bleachers of the football field with brainiac's mom sitting right in front of us when he received his 9th award of the night. My mom leaned over and asked her...."What did you feed that boy?" Everyone in the vicinity cracked up, most of all the kid's mom....
Again., congratulations on a job well done.

(53,956 posts)I just sent a gift to a noisy living calendar (a.k.a my best friend from college's son). All the potential. All those dreams. Kinda nice to be a part of it.
