Exclusive: One Million Moms Deletes Green Lantern Is Gay Post After Flood Of Pro-Gay Comments
by David Badash on June 1, 2012
Just a few minutes ago, One Million Moms on their Facebook page issued a warning, linked to an ABC News story, reporting that D.C. Comics character Green Lantern is gay, but pulled the piece after at least 83 comments all but a handful positive were posted.
As The New Civil Rights Movement reported this morning and last week, D.C. Comics character Green Lantern has been rebooted and is now gay which has been very popular since reported.
When I happened upon the posting, it seemed that there were more than 100 comments, but when I tried to access the post on its individual page, it came up with an error message: The page you requested was not found. (Original link here.)
I went back to the main One Million Moms Facebook page, noticed there were now only 83 comments, clicked to access the posts individual page again, took a screen shot, but noticed there were only a few dozen comments.

(12,496 posts)They're all a bunch of fucking idiots.
Perhaps the "reboot" is gay, but the original GL, Hal Jordan, was anything but gay. His SO was Carol Ferris, his "boss" at Ferris Aircrafts. As the classic series progressed, Carol and Hal became engaged. Carol was enlisted at one point by a group of aliens to be "Star Sapphire" who battled GL several times, but Carol had amnesia of the times she was Star Sapphire.

(55,148 posts)After the antigay group known as One Million Moms came under assault on Facebook for attacking the idea of a gay comic book character, OMM's Facebook page went missing.
The New Civil Rights Movement reports that OMM's page on the social media site disappeared, and a quick Facebook search confirms that news. The group, which has leveled attacks against companies like JCPenney for being pro-gay, recently pounced on DC Comics for introducing Green Lantern as a gay character. After their Facebook post on the issue received numerous pro-gay comments, OMM removed the post.
Apparently, OMM went a step further recently by deleting their entire Facebook page. The New Civil Rights Movement notes that the group sent out a Tweet yesterday that stated they will be offline for most of next week to attend "vacation bible school."
