An Israeli flag was burned in front of Budapest's main synagogue, on Tuesday, reportedly by followers of the right wing party, Jobbik.
The incident took place during an anti-Semitic rally outside the Dohany St. Synagogue, the largest synagogue in Europe, on the day that Hungary commemorated the 56th anniversary of the 1956 Revolution against Soviet domination.
In related incidents, several Hungarian Jews were attacked by far right extremists, Hungary's Foreign Ministry told the website "BosNewsLife," without elaborating any further.
Jobbik's leader Gábor Vona demurred continued Hungarian cooperation between with Israel. According to reports he said any "agreement between Hungary and Israel should be canceled.
