Later in life I have a lifetime supply of cleaning rags.

(57,081 posts)but I still feel guilty over the electric it uses just sitting around, so I unplug it and my wife gets miffed about having to reset it. Its a terrible thing I will use uncomfortably until I figure how to keep out of a landfill.

(3,212 posts)Although I did buy some "instant" k-kups to use with houseguests. That's the only time I buy them. It's truly great when you have a houseful of guests all awakening at different times.
I usually use my regular coffee pot in the a.m. or a reusable Keurig for a cup of coffee in the evening, and my husband uses the Keurig to heat water for tea.

(53,235 posts)of liquids in plastic containers and wonder how many of those could be changed to something dry, lighter, and in cardboard (preferably by a fast-growing plant instead of a tree). And who benefits the most? The oil industry. They make the plastic containers and ship the heavy fluids.

There's potential health hazards there with the ingestion of plastics... in addition to all the environmental concerns.
