Evidence Links Right-Wing Politicians to El Salvador Gangs

Evidence has surfaced that suggests members of the right wing ARENA party have been colluding with criminal organizations.
Officials in El Salvador will begin investigations into the right-wing political party National Republican Alliance, known as ARENA, for its alleged connection to violent gangs in the country.
The investigations were sparked by accusations from the governing Farabundo Marti National Liberation Front, or FMLN, party, which says it has photographic evidence of certain ARENA lawmakers including some mayors dealing with criminal groups.
We have photos ... where ARENA party legislators socialize with gang leaders, said Medardo Gonzalez, Secretary General of the left-wing FMLN in a television program this week. We should not allow political parties to allow our political structure to be taken over by organized crime.
