Juan Fernandez Gonzalez | 30-11--0001

The Bolivian Government has announced that the national telecom satellite Túpac Katari has successfully passed the testing phase and is ready to start operating.

The satellite will be commercially operative from April.

According to the Minister of Public Works, Vladimir Sánchez, some telecom services will be also sold to other Latin American companies, although no names have been unveiled.

The satellite, built and launched in China, will be controlled from Bolivia, from the stations of Amachuma (near the capital La Paz) and Santa Cruz which will be operated by Bolivian technicians who have also been trained by the Chinese Government.
