The Colombian government has ordered the arrest of a south Colombia ex-governor accused of murder and paramilitaries ties, reported local media Wednesday.

According to criminal investigations, the former governor of Caqueta, Germain Medina Trivino contacted AUC bloc “Andaquies Heroes” to orchestrate the murder of two teachers in Florencia, a central city in the department.

An ex-paramilitary member, alias "Guio," has testified about Trivino's role in the conspiracy -- allegations which the former politician denies.

According to the arrest warrant, issued by a prosecutor from the National Unit for Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law, the ex-governor held several meetings with paramilitaries on farms throughout the region.
