Want a Selfie with Hillary? She's there, with a smile!
Hillary Clinton defended the campaign-trail selfie in an interview with an Iowa newspaper, saying taking photos with fans didn’t detract from old-fashioned conversations about the issues.
Asked by the Daily Times Herald of Carroll, Iowa, about whether she was tired of all the selfies with voters, Mrs. Clinton responded: “But it is what they want. It is important to them.” She added: “I had some really meaningful interactions in and amongst all the selfies,” noting conversations about mental health and student-loan debt with Iowans.
Younger voters today “live in a social-media world…it’s as important as anything they could have asked me. So I just say, ‘OK, we’re going to do it.’ ”
Mrs. Clinton noted that she also was asked to pose for pictures while in the Senate, so the selfie, in a way, is just the latest evolution of that old practice, she told the Daily Times Herald....
