Related: About this forumMan tries to outrun cops in Geo Metro
This would've ended better if he remembered he was not in the Millennium Falcon, but a Geo Metro.CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - A Norway man was jailed overnight after he tried unsuccessfully to out-run police in a Geo Metro.
Adam Q. Webster, 34, was arrested after he surrendered to police following the chase in northwest Cedar Rapids. The pursuit came to an end without any injuries.
According to a police report, around 11:25 p.m. Wednesday, Webster turned right on a red light without stopping at the corner of F Avenue and Ellis Boulevard NW and nearly hit an unmarked police car in the process. The car initially slowed in the 600 block of Ninth Street NW, when the officer activated the patrol cars emergency lights, but then sped off.
The car ran a stop sign before turning west onto E Avenue NW. After a few more turns, the driver came back north on 13th Street NW, and reached an estimated 65 mph in the residential zone.

(18,219 posts)1. I guess in Norway, the cops don't have powerful engines
in their cars either, so it would have been a fair fight. Here, not so much.
But I have the impression that being successful in a chase is only part engine. The other part is how much you are willing to do to get away. Maybe he thought he had more guts than the cops.
Dumb ass.

(14,274 posts)2. He may not have outrun them
But I guarantee he had better gas mileage than the police car.
