And Michelle and Barack stepping fast up those stairs, she is grace and beauty in motion!
Just what I needed today. A couple of hard things had occured, and then something very nice that made me cry. The Obamas getting to go on a well-deserved holiday. Much love to them all. |

go to Kailua on Oahu
The atmosphere is low-key. Except for open-stage events at ChadLou’s, there’s not much nightlife. But there’s a great twice-a-week farmers’ market. No hotels, but you can find homes and condos to rent. No four-star dining, but enough bistros and cafes to satisfy the ex-urbanites who now commute to work in Honolulu, and a terrific shave-ice stand.
These pleasures—and, of course, the beaches—give Kailua a strong gravitational pull: Once people visit, they start thinking about a second trip, or a third. The most famous returnee is President Barack Obama, who spent time here as a child and who has visited regularly on First Family vacations
Their eagerness in bouncing up those stairs was endearing Mele Kalikimaka, She |

The Garden Isle
Kaua'i is the oldest of all the main Hawaiian Islands, dating back some 5.1 million years. Kaua'i lies approximately 105 miles across the Kaua'i Channel, northwest of O`ahu. The island is nearly circular in shape with a land area encompassing 533 square miles, that is 25 miles long by 33 miles wide at its furthest points. Of volcanic origin, the highest peaks on this mountainous island are Kawaikini, at 5,243 feet, followed by Mount Wai'ale'ale near the center of the island, at 5,148 feet above sea level. The wettest spot on earth, with an annual average rainfall of 450-470 inches, is located on the east side of Mount Wai'ale'ale. This high annual rainfall has eroded deep valleys in the central mountain, carving out ridges, canyons, and valleys with many scenic waterfalls. http://www.hawaii-guide.com/ She |

16. "Okay, but I'm still jealous you live there"..
Would it make you feel any better if I told you I've been thinking a lot about Boston lately and how great it would be to be a part of all that? However I can certainly understand people wanting to visit the Hawai'ian Islands.. the exotic tropical beauty and its people are a priceless treasure to be experienced. 06 August 2012 Kauai, Hawaii’s Island of Discovery
This fifteen-mile stretch of rugged coastline on the northwest shore of Kauai literally means "the Cliffs." Much of Na Pali Coast is inaccessible due to its characteristic sheer cliffs that drop straight down, thousands of feet into the ocean. Sailing, rafting and hiking are the best ways to experience Na Pali's myriad of natural wonders. A must-do Kauai activity.

Karen Finney, but what was he supposed to do? Sit in the White House, nose pressed against the window, waiting for John of Orange to return? Screw that. I don't begrudge him a few days in paradise after the hell the GOP has put him through.
