Yikes! Attack ads on ObamaCare

GOP must be really desperate. When I got home from the hospital lab test awhile ago, I switched on the boob tube and heard the tail-end of a new ad. Some female voice sympathetic and urgent, telling state residents to write their reps and tell them "ObamaCare is hurting our families!" Since I generally use my 7" tv more like a radio, I think I'd have heard one of these before if they were out there in this region. Didn't hear the lies and excuses I'm sure the ad led off with, but we all knew this was coming from the TPs and their fellow travelers. Midterm's started already, I guess.

Anyway, how stupid do they think people are??? Wait, wait... I already know the answer. They must think "Enough are stupid enough. Let's run it up the flagpole and see who salutes." Yeccch.

1. I see these ads ...

all the time here in Tucson, AZ, and I thought it was odd.

But then, there was a post on DU indicating that the Koch Brothers has targeted 13 states and Arizona is one of them ... and these are where the ads are running. I'll try and find the link.

On a related note ...

The Tucson ad, the tag line is "Call Ron Barber and tell him we don't want us no ObamaCare". When I first heard the ad (on MSNBC), I called Barber's office to ask why they let the lies stand? I was so worked up, I pledged (to myself) to give $5 and an hour of my time volunteering, for each time I saw the ad. (At this rate, I'm gonna have to mortgage me house to afford the donations and quit my job to accommodate the volunteering.)

I did a stint in AZ. Got out ASAP. One thing that surprised me in such a fascist state, though, was the size and strength of the CP in and around Tucson.

WASHINGTON — Democrats are increasingly anxious about an onslaught of television ads hitting vulnerable Senate and House candidates for their support of the new health law, since many lack the resources to fight back in the early stages of the midterm campaign.

Since September, Americans for Prosperity, a group financed in part by the billionaire Koch brothers, has spent an estimated $20 million on television advertising that calls out House and Senate Democrats by name for their support of the Affordable Care Act.

The unusually aggressive early run of television ads, which has been supplemented by other conservative initiatives, has gone largely unanswered, and strategists in both parties agree it is taking a toll on its targets.



Building on the success, the deep-pocketed organization disclosed on Tuesday that it was expanding its Senate efforts with $1.8 million in airtime to attack Democratic House members running for the Senate in Iowa and Michigan, where Democrats are viewed as holding an early advantage. The group was also moving into Montana, a state where Democrats may struggle to defend a seat, on behalf of a Republican House member running for the Senate.

7. That's a good one.

I heard the whole ad today. They were blathering on about broken promises of keeping their (junk) policies and losing their doctors and policy rates skyrocketing. Who makes up this crap? Fortunately by the actual midterm election, maybe more of the factually challenged will have ObamaCare by then and realize they don't want to give it up. I'm telling you, it feels good to know you're valued enough for society to believe you deserve to live - in good health, at that. I'm going for my yearly checkup at the end of the month. Even the whitecoat fever doesn't ruin the day. It just makes me feel more a part of the human race.
