UK Forum prediction thread 2012

My predictions:

Obama will win the vote by 3.5% and gain 310+ EVs. Even with the various attempts by the GOP and its allies to undermine Federal civil rights and voting rights laws.

The RW will call it "stolen" and make baseless accusations that "Illegals were bussed in". After defeat sinks in the RW throw Romney under the bus for "not being conservative enough".

It would make my year if the Democrats manage to swing the House too.

Obama will win by 2% and gain approximately 290 EVs. We will be lucky if we know for sure that he's won on Wednesday; there may be several nail-biting days before Romney concedes.

The Dems in the Senate lose only one seat, remaining in control with 52-48. The House stays Republican, but some of the worst teabaggers lose.

Win or lose, Romney will be attacked by the RW for being a 'RINO'.

It's rather along the lines that tomorrow morning the sun will rise.

Much of the right of the Republican Party would denounce Genghis Khan as a RINO - some might call it a complete lack of contact with reality.

I've remarked a few times that the First Law of Republican Politics is that there is no one so right wing that they can't lose a primary to someone even further right.

Someone in the Torygraph (James Delingpole?) once complained that Romney was a RINO 'like David Cameron'. I was not aware that Cameron was supposed to be a Republican even in name!

I remember posting that article on DU under the headline "The Stupid is indeed strong with James Delingpole".

Recently he even took the time to personally accuse me of having a "hair-trigger hilarity problem" on Twitter after I described one of his more pathetic rants as hilariously bad.

All I can say to him now is HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Optimistic now, I think, but it might happen (it's all the toss-up states except North Carolina). I'll pick that, if only not to go for the prediction of the Princeton Election Consortium website, which is 303-235 (Florida goes to Romney, but the same apart from that).

I don't think the Democrats will take the House, but they'll get close - within 10 seats.

That's for sure.

There is no doubt in my own mind that President Obama will be re-elected but that result may not necessarily be clear by tomorrow.

Barack Obama may have been an underwhelming president, but to be blunt about it his opponents are almost totally insane.

In other news, Todd Akin and Richard Mourdock both lost after courting the somewhat niche rapists vote.

Don't expect the GOP to learn anything from any of this though. They'll just carry on with the same old selfish, poor-hating, bigoted claptrap as before regardless of such inconveniences as reality.

If Mitt Romney had won, it would have been proof that there's no intelligent life on Earth, let alone anywhere else.

Florida is being Florida, but it's a definite victory anyway.

Phew, once again!

and got up again at about 4 o'clock.

Then I watched the necessary fall into place until President Obama was declared the winner.

Today is a happy day.
