TRUE CONFESSION HERE: I made a serious voting mistake one year when I wasn't paying attention - not voting for Louis Butler, an honorable judge (black man, appointed by Doyle) on WI supreme court running for reelection. Somehow I had absorbed the smear message his repub backed opponent was presenting ... and Im embarrassed to admit ... either left it blank or voted against him. And Im someone who is always highly skeptical of paid advertising of any type, and I don't have a TV so I wasn't even seeing any ads. But somehow the smear had permeated even the news reporting and somehow I had absorbed enough negativity to do what I did.

Sure wish the hell I could do that one over again.

5. Scary....

I just talked to one of my constituents who asked who I was voting for in the Supreme Court race.

I said "Kloppenburg of course!"

The constituent replied..."Her...you can't support her, she's on the side of the criminals"*
