Jelly Belly closing up shop in Wisconsin, moving to Tennessee

Apparently the folks at Jelly Belly didn’t get the message that thanks to right to work legislation Scott Walker’s Wisconsin is even more “open for business” than before, as they’re closing the Jelly Belly location in Pleasant Prairie and moving that operation to another state.

This is a great family place with tours, sad to see this place is leaving.

"And the hits just keep on coming. Hits against public education, against workers, against unions, against open government, against the environment and our natural resources. Negative, distressing hits that understandably send some people into numbed shock and even apathy.

But Wisconsin is not alone. These kinds of assaults against sensible government that serves all are happening in state after state. And the way to combat Walkerism in Wisconsin, Raunerism in Illinois, or legislative Republican hegemony in West Virginia is to compare notes and see these parallel developments for what they are: Coordinated, national assaults by vested, big-money interests. Those interests game the electoral, judicial and electoral systems, along with our educational and media institutions, installing right-wing ideologues into all levels of policymaking, instituting a cookie-cutter agenda favoring elites over most Americans.

To take one example, read the following article from the online West Virginia MetroNews to see just how much that state's recent political upheavals parallel those here in the Badger state. In Charleston:

Union leaders, workers vow to take back statehouse at large rally"

unions, public schools, the media, now universities like UW and UNC where baby Koch, Art Pope is in charge. I've seen news of the recent winter rallies by brave workers in Wisc. and Charleston just after the oil tanker spill who traveled from across the state to gather outside the Capitol in the cold and snow. All very disturbing. I have a cousin in St. Paul who I need to call; we're both native Mountaineers.

The state was so very different when we were growing up with many thriving workers, businesses, communities and middle classes. I first traveled to Colorado with a hometown friend who just graduated law school from Madison for a wedding of his UW classmates, beautiful trip many years ago.

Keep the faith & enjoy the garden, natural joy and beauty. Definitely one of the healthiest pastimes.
We had purple and white irises from my Mother in Law's garden, healthy and large near the wisteria and peonies. Ah, Spring! The earth laughs in flowers.~ Emerson

I love Irises. I had beautiful ones at my old house. I have hostas and peonies. I successfully split and transplanted the hostas, but not the peonies.

The state formerly known as Wisconsin that had its motto: "Forward". Kochistan's motto is "Reverse".

13. Kochistan is the word. And many 'Kochvilles' cropping up around the US I think, a la Hoover.

I followed and supported the WI recall with Barrett, what a great effort. Yet neither the VP or the Pres. came to the state. What a time, the head of the Democratic Party not standing for workers just after the largest financial crash in 75 years. There's recent news of Corey Booker of NJ working with a Koch and Geo. Soros on prisoner rights, illustrating how blatantly controlled our political process is with billionaire money now.
