Wow. Surprising anti-gun radio ad from a local business man. We take our cars to him for a reason.
So I flip over to the local rock station on the way home. I hear a voice I know but I look to see if I’m on talk radio.
Here’s the tail end that I heard:
“....we have to get serious about this. I’m not against guns. I own guns, that isn’t going to change. We need real background checks. 3 days to wait so that a full background check including social media reviews can be done. This just has to stop. .....(female voiceover)this message was paid for by Mark Smith of Midas of Richmond”.
This is a business guy who has to know this could turn away people.
Who is Mark Smith?
He owns Midas of Richmond. Several shops. Good work.
His front counter people are paid straight salary. No incentive to sell more services. They told me that.
Blood drive events at the stores - give blood = free oil change.
Every visit gets a tinyurl link text with a full diagnostic (with video of say the brake fluid test).
His loaner vehicles are plastered with advertising for FeedMore the local food distribution operation.
He teams up with St. John’s Villa - abused women shelter and other services
I first noticed him when he included mentioning his “Weekend backpack” food program for kids.
He includes in ads - that are about FeedMore not his shops - about his mother watering down the milk when he was a kid to stretch it out.
I take our cars to his shops exclusively. Do we pay a little more? Yeah but we can and you can see why.
Oh and he has his dogs in the office at one of his locations.
