just for the heck of it.. I put my brothers situation in there.. he is from SD.. makes less than 8.000 dollars a year.. (he will not get medicaid because their Governor refuses to set it up) and this calculator says he will have to pay over 4,000 dollars a year.. 52% of his income.. something smells here..

That's where the Medicaid expansion was supposed to come in, anyone whose income was below the FPL was supposed to get enrolled into Medicaid. That's the part of the ACA the SCOTUS struck down (forcing states to expand Medicaid) and cases like your brother will apparently be in limbo until something gets done either at the state or national level
