Phila. Student - You are destroying the reasons why we go to school

It is public knowledge that the Phila. Schools have lost most of their guidance counselors, art teachers, music teachers, nurses and assistant principals. However, I'm told that some schools don't even have math teachers. The slashing in staffing results from state cuts in funding, as well as the federal sequester, and increased health care costs.
Corbett is also holding up $50 million in state money that was approved for the Phila. Schools because he first wants larger give-backs from teachers.
Meanwhile, the Corbettites are going to get what they want. Many parents are going to pull their kids out of public schools and transfer them to better funded charter schools.
However, Phila. will also lose many middle income families with school age kids, who will flee to the suburbs, thereby setting back revitalization efforts and further decreasing tax revenues for Phila.
