Staten Island convent fire leaves 6 injured

STATEN ISLAND (WABC) -- A fire at a convent on Staten Island early Saturday morning left six people injured.

The blaze broke out at about 5:30 a.m. at the Convent of St. Joseph Hill Academy on Hylan Boulevard in the Arrochar section.

When firefighters arrived they spotted people at the windows, and flames on both the first and second floors.

Over 100 firefighters responded to the scene, and managed to extinguish the fire within a half hour.
