Although the police are often unpopular on this board, I do not share that unfounded opinion that they are "all bad". A local policeman was buried yesterday. He was an Iraq vet and the father of a young son.

The cops need to establish a standard of practice to protect and serve. Then, they all must adhere to that standard. No other way around it if positive change is to occur. The militarization of our police along with the motto, the cop is always honest and true...needs to be history.

He ran to the train station and killed himself according to early reports.

Why? I can't tell you.

Sounds like he emotionally hit the wall...such a shame for the unnecessary collateral damage and pain.
