Catholic League will boycott 2015 NYC St. Pat's Parade over exclusion of pro-life group

Catholic League eyes aren't smiling on the 2015 St. Patrick's Day Parade.

For the first time in 20 years, the League won't join the ranks of the city's famous tribute to the Irish saint because an LGBT group is being permitted to walk under an identifying banner, but a pro-life Catholic group is not.

"Prior to the announcement that a gay group would march under its own banner in the 2015 parade, I was consulted by parade organizers about their plans. I told them that I could only support this decision if there were a formal revision in the parade's rules governing marching units," League leader Bill Donohue said Thursday morning.
