Mayor de Blasio praises peaceful Staten Island march against police brutality

ERIN DURKIN

Mayor de Blasio praised Saturday’s march protesting the chokehold death of Eric Garner, calling it an example of police and residents working together peacefully.

“The march clearly was an example of police and protesters finding a way to get things done in a positive and democratic fashion. And it’s something that New Yorkers should all be proud of,” de Blasio said Sunday morning in a radio interview with Norman Seabrook, head of the correction officers union.
