Mixed sentiments toward Muslim-focused community in Lino Lakes, city considering moratorium

Support and disapproval continues in the north metro surrounding a major development with a mosque as its center point.

While Monday’s Lino Lakes City Council meeting did not have the development on the agenda, it was the main focus for community members who spoke during public comment.

‘Madinah Lakes’ would be a 156-acre site that includes housing, a daycare, grocery store and other retail, but its developer, Faraaz Yussuf, feels the community’s concerns are rooted in the place of worship.

“We’ve got a plan to build a mosque in the middle, which is the biggest contention point in this development,” Yussuf said.

Just one question: was there any discussion on moratorium on development before this plan was presented?

... there are several Orthodox Jewish communities in upstate New York, including followers of the late Rabi Schneerson in the Chad/Lubavitcher movement, including synagogues.

Acceptance fosters understanding and peace. If we can keep a Mosque from being built, why can't we close down or keep gun hugging "Christian" nationalist gun hugger chuches from being built.

The first worship center I ever saw someone open carry was a synagogue I served Shabbat dinner at on the access road going south of the LDS in Chicago. I got it. There was another period of violent antisemitism going around, in 99/2000. And Christians attack Synagogues. Jews do not attack Churches. It seem "Christians" attack Churches with automatic weapons.

Nothing like a contentious divorce or child custody fight to bring out the firearms in gun huggers.

Orthodox Jews build a temple and buy up the surrounding neighborhood. Now that Muslims are doing it, the alarms are going off.

They can get over themselves and let these people build what they want.

(Fucking racists scum bags. Fuck them and their 'moratorium'. They are just mad that these fine folks are organized and ready to build their little slice of great in this state, while they keep gathering to pray away anything they cannot control and finding it doesn't work.)
