BOSTON — Organizers of Boston's bid for the 2024 Summer Olympics on Friday released the full, unredacted version of the bid that won over the U.S. Olympic Committee, after city officials earlier this week clamored for their disclosure.

The documents reveal that organizers initially projected the games costing about $4.7 billion but running at a nearly $500 million deficit. Boston 2024's revised proposal, released in June, shows a $4.6 billion budget with a surplus of just over $200 million.

The previously undisclosed sections also reveal details about the public and political support organizers expected for the games, such as:

— Boston 2024 anticipated submitting a raft of bills to the state legislature to "facilitate public control of the land and infrastructure" and streamline the permitting process, among other things.

Give it to some poverty-stricken area, that can easily default once the "Olympic Committee" (thieves that they are) screws the place blue and extracts all their bribes.

Fuck the Olympics! Hold it in GREECE every year--at least the summer games. They could use the money, and it's their damned idea!

We could build beautiful, permanent facilities there--it's silly to try and gild the lily.

If they HAD to get "diverse" then pick one or two sports to be given "the treatment" elsewhere. Every Olympics, they could pick a separate country for two or three sports, and leave the rest where they belong--in GREECE, where the damn concept began.

It's just so RIDICULOUS!!

After Oslo dropped out last October, only two cities—Beijing and Almaty, Kazakhstan—are now candidates to host the 2022 winter Olympics, providing further support for a prediction in a 2012 report commissioned by the Dutch government that in the future only non-democratic countries will pay up to host the events. If the IOC, which markets the games as a force for peace and harmony, wants to avoid being turned into a propaganda tool for autocratic regimes, it may need to rethink.

There should be an automatic ethics probe for any elected official who supports a bid for the games.
