Just Moved to Maryland

In September I relocated from IL, I currently live in Rockville. The primaries are coming fast, and I'm not as nearly as informed as I need to be. Can someone be kind enough to give me a cheat sheet on the political landscape?

Democrats Chris Van Hollen and Donna Edwards, both Congresscritters, are running against each other. Van Hollen is from Montgomery County, has about $5million in the bank, just ran ads in Baltimore and jumped in the lead 2 weeks ago, polling at 43 to31 against Edwards, who is from PG County and has less than $1 million. EMILY'S List - a PAC that supports pro-choice Democratic women and helped the retiring Senator Barbara Mikulski get into office 30 years ago - is running $1 million in ads for Donna in Baltimore. It is likely that the polls may flip back by the end of January. But the reality is that Edwards is the underdog because of the money. We'll just see what happens.

I've posted many notes about Donna's campaign. If you want to read more about her, go to my blog - https://laurenfoster64.wordpress.com

I know for a fact that Edwards will have a presence in Montgomery County. I can give you a contact name if you want to get involved.
