Compton pit bull breeder mauled to death by his own dogs

LOS ANGELES – A chaotic and gruesome scene unfolded in Compton on Friday morning after a man who was breeding pit bulls was mauled to death in his backyard.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, officials responded to a home on Thorson Avenue, just south of Rosecrans Avenue, around 7 a.m. after a concerned friend visited the property and discovered the man’s body.

Investigators believe the attack occurred Thursday evening between 7:30 p.m. and 8 p.m.

“He was feeding the dogs at which point maybe there was an altercation between some of the dogs and [they] ultimately attacked and mauled the victim,” said Michael Gomez with LASD’s Homicide Bureau.

7. In the KTLA video you see a female pit with heavy swollen teets and puppies.

He was probably breeding her mercilessly.

The neighbors must be so relieved to have those dogs removed from that house of horrors.

8. When our children were small we had a tough guy neighbor who had a tough guy pit bull.

He'd "train" the dog by having it pull a heavy log around his backyard.

When the guy was arrested and sentenced to prison for something else the police took his dog too and I was greatly relieved. But I was a little sad too. The dog didn't deserve that.

I'm not a fan of dog breeders in general.

The dogs I grew up with, and the dogs my wife and I have adopted have all been the castoffs of people who couldn't take care of them for one reason or another.

9. All 13 dogs were euthanized after evidence revealed each mauled, and were dangerous.

It appears each dog, even the puppies, mauled his body, and thus were too much of a danger to the community to be adopted out. This man turned these dogs into monsters, and that resulted in his, and their, deaths.
