GOOD NEWS

On Wednesday, California Lieutenant Governor Eleni Kounalakis wrote a letter to Secretary of State Shirley Weber urging her to "explore every legal option" to remove Trump from the ballot, citing the Colorado case.

"California must stand on the right side of history," Kounalakis wrote. "California is obligated to determine if Trump is ineligible for the California ballot for the same reasons described in [Anderson v. Griswold]. The Colorado decision can be the basis for a similar decision here in our state."

They just haven't been indicted, nor have their dirty deeds been exposed systematically.

YET.

There should be enough available evidence of their part in the insurrection to make the cases.

That could improve the government enormously.

Even in red districts? Worth the effort. Let them pay.

However, I believe CA Rs have moved to a winner take all apportionment for presidential primaries. So, if tRump is kept off the primary ballot, it would really hurt him in the overall delegate count for the R nominee.

However, I'm a bit conflicted. I think Biden has a better chance of beating TFG in the general election than a different R candidate such as Nikki Haley.

They're all loathesome, and would likely embrace Project 2025.

The deadline for the primary ballot was last week, I think, and the mechanics for the March 5 primary are already in motion (I suppose a court could kick him off the November ballot and declare the runner-up in the closed Republican primary the nominee).
