Rich man's playground. Both bu$h Jr. and McCain had $1000-a-plate dinners there. Pretty much explains why Republicans can be clueless as to what's out in the "real world".

Anyway, if I were in town, I would definitely go. Womack certainly needs to hear from his less-than-well-heeled constituents.

it's spreading from committee meetings to blogs to facebook pages. There's a good chance we'll get a very good crowd. Lots of old people, young dems from the university in Fayetteville; I need "middle class" professionals and people in wheel chairs with oxygen tanks attached...we'll see about those. Too bad you're not in town, it would be fun. Any suggestions for signs?

And maybe my mom would be interested in going, although she's getting kind of frail and might not have the energy for such an event.

If my mother were alive, I'd attach her portable oxygen tank and take her!

If your mom is at all active in the party, she might be able to get someone to bring her.

But she does need a lot of motivation to get out of the house now. I'm not sure if what's on your petition would be enough to motivate her, but I'll contact her and ask her what she thinks.

This state is filled with apathetic people who deserve the government we get. Sad state.

that 2pm on a Thursday is the middle of the workday for most people.
Also, I expect that a lot of people don't understand the ramifications of the current situation, because we managed to get through a similar situation last time.

there are many comments that say "good job" and few or none that say "F this?" The party called me and told me that they would not participate and no citizens wanted to join in. This state is fucked. I am filing for my passport renewal. It expired this summer.

but there were also many that didn't like what the Republicans were doing. I was shocked, though, to see a very familiar name among those who were supporting this Republican stonewalling.

that the GOP would implode on their own and why waste energy. They have been doing this for 40 years and they ain'ta goin change and fuck they way they do it elsewhere. When I tried to point out it wasn't working so well for any of us, it was another rant about this is the way it works here.

edit to add: state party said that someone would get back to me...the county chair did, so I guess that was the state party's answer too.
